Bangladesh – The Land of Colors and Greens
Bangladesh is «THE underrated country». Who would ever think of traveling to Bangladesh? Most of you won’t, and that is probably just because you may never have heard it is interesting to go. The fact is, Bangladesh is beautiful, and has not been spoilt by masstourism! Thus, this country remains up to this day very pristine. There are lot of interesting places to visit, of which you definitely should put these into your list:
- Old Dhaka (Azan Manzil, Lalbagh Fort, Markets, Star Mosque)
- Barishal
- Sunderbans
- Shad Gombuj Mosque
- Sonargon
- Sylhet
- Lalakhal
- Sreemongol (Lawachara, Tee plantations)
There are even more places to visit, which I did not go to, but definitely would consider on another future Bangladesh trip. These would incluce:
- Rajshahi
- Cox’s Bazar
- Bandarban
- Ratargul Swamp Forest (best right after end monsoon season)
- (Guava Market in Barisal (only in Septembers)
It was always a wish to me to visit this forgotten country, and finally in 2017, I made it real by traveling there together with my friend. I did have a great time. Bangladeshi people are super friendly and welcoming. All in all, it was a very unique trip, as I was pretty much the only western tourist; in my 10 days of traveling, I only met other Westerner’s twice.
