What Overlap Rate Really Means in Google Ads

Overlap rate shows how often another advertiser’s ad appears in the same auction as yours.

If a competitor shows up 37% of the time, that means about 4 out of 10 auctions you’re going head-to-head with them. A high number means they’re a frequent rival, so check their ads, offers, and landing pages to see how they stack up.

A low number means you rarely cross paths, so they’re not much of a threat. Don’t get obsessed with competition, chasing them endlessly is a race to the bottom.
