The solitude of bookbinding | Handmade full leather binding

This is a compilation of videos I shot while making my newest journal. The format of this binding is A6, bound in vegetable tanned purple goat skin. The process starts with paper folding which is later sewn by hand. The block is then backed to compensate for the spine swell, the paper is trimmed and sanded for a smoother edge. The headbands are sewn with cotton thread over a leather cord. At last, the journal is covered in the leather and tooled with heated brass tools.
