What is Hy3 and why is it beating Claude on OpenRouter?
A Tencent model called Hy3 beats Claude by more than 50% in token volume on OpenRouter, and on the benchmarks it loses to other open-source models. Max Woolf dug into the public usage data and found that 98% of Hy3's traffic is input tokens, which is the signature of one big app feeding it text at industrial scale. Usage charts rank whoever pushes the most tokens through, so I think the most popular AI on the board might just be one anonymous customer with a very large pipe.
