In another horrifying case of crimes against women, a 17-year-old girl was gang-raped by 7 college students in Coimbatore after she was lured into coming to a hotel on social media by the perpetrators. All the 7 accused have been charged under POCSO and arrested by the police after the survivor registered a complaint with the police. This is the 5th case of crime against women reported in Tamil Nadu in a span of just 2 months.

The police registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and arrested Rakshith, 19, Abineshwaran, 19, Deepak, 20, Yadav Raj, 20, Muthu Nagaraj, 20, Nithish, 19, and Jebin, 20. They were remanded in judicial custody.
