In this session, we will look at how to install the zabbix agent on the linux machine. This will help you to monitor the remote linux machine from your zabbix dashboard installed on the zabbix server.

Commands for agent installation on ubuntu server :
Step 1. Download the debian package
sudo wget https://repo.zabbix.com/zabbix/5.0/ubuntu/pool/main/z/zabbix-release/zabbix-release_5.0-1+bionic_all.deb
Step 1. Install the package
sudo dpkg -i zabbix-release_5.0-1+bionic_all.deb
Step 4 : Update the machine
sudo apt update -y
Step 4. Install the agent
apt-get install zabbix-agent
Step 5. Edit the agent configuration file and provide the details.
vim /etc/zabbix/zabbix_agentd.conf ----- Add Zabbix server IP in Server, ServerActive and add Hostname.
Step 6. Start the agent service
/etc/init.d/zabbix-agent restart
