Neeraj Chopra Journey: From a chubby village kid to an Olympian gold medalist

India's golden boy Neeraj Chopra was born in Haryana's Panipat district on December 24, 1997. Son of a farmer, Neeraj was a chubby, shy boy who weighed 80 kilograms. His parents sent him to the fields to shed his weight and that is where he became interested in athletics. Neeraj closely watched Javeilin athlete Jaiveer during his childhood days.
