As the demand for new pilots continue to rise, so is the opportunity for flight schools and airplane manufacturers. Slings have been more known to build personal fun airplanes, but since they officially got into the pilot training industry last year, the company have also decided to build an aircraft solely for training new pilots.

That new aircraft is the Sling NGT. The airframe is technically that of a light sport Sling 2, but what you’ll find different is the glass panel. Equipped with a Garmin G3X Touch, a Garmin G5, and a GTN650 with autopilot. You now have a complete modern glass panel capable of flying in instrument conditions. Normally the FAA doesn’t allow LSA to be flown in IFR let alone train students for their instrument rating. But a recent new rule states that; if an airplane (lsa) is equipped with the right equipment, it is then considered a technologically advanced aircraft. This allows the aircraft to be used to train for instrument and in some cases commercial license.
