The New Personality Disorder: Side effects of the Jehovah's Witness conditioning.

In this video I will discuss some of the effects on our personality and behavior that result as a consequence of being raised as Jehovah's Witness, or having been exposed to their teachings for prolonged periods of time. Some of which I have identified in myself, and/or have become aware of in conversation with other ExJWs.

Disclaimer: I am not a mental health professional. These are my opinions and any evidence supporting my observations are purely anecdotal.

I share what I have learned throughout my own personal effort to deprogram myself from the Jehovah's Witnesses conditioning, because I know how difficult it can be to figure out who we truly are after leaving the organization. Personally, I found that it was difficult to pinpoint my obstacles until I came in contact with other ExJWs, and in sharing out experiences, were able to identify common hardships.

I strongly suggest that anyone who has been a Jehovah's Witness, or has been strongly influenced by one, seek therapy from a mental health professional in order to root out any lingering effects of exposure.
