Why SHADOW AND BONE is Funny For Russians

Netflix SHADOW AND BONE is an awesome young adult fantasy show based on a book series by Leigh Bardugo.
The show is set in the Russia-inspired land of Ravka, there are many Russian names and words in that fantasy world. For me as a Russian person, this kind of setting is unusual, because most fantasy worlds are based on Western European cultures and countries.
I really loved the show but for me it had a little side effect - it was quite funny. The Russian names and words used in the series might sound cool and exotic for English speakers, but for me they are really funny (in a good way). For example, the word "Grisha" (magic folk) is a common Russian name, and one of the characters has the same name as a famous Russian tennis player.
It didn't ruin the show for me, though, just made it a little unusual, and I do recommed Shadow and Bone to anyone who likes young adult fiction!
