(DIY) Compressing old bike fender’s arc that had been spread wide.

Without any access to fender roller/english wheel, just press the fender in a bench vise. Press the fenders about 1/4 inch lesser or so than your desired width and apply heat on the fender’s arc using a torch, then let it cool down. If its still wider, do it again and this time compress it a little more than the previous. The heat will make the sheet metal hold its curve. These old bicycle fenders have become wider at the ends/tips maybe because of previous owner/s spread the braces too far when they uninstall/install the fenders or years of wear and tear or for whatever reason. There may be other ways to do it but this is how i do it. Feel free to comment any other inputs or what i did wrong..
