Water Meter Pit

Most homes here in Brooklyn have a water meter pit. Sometimes they're in the house and sometimes in the garage. In this case, it was the garage and each time this homeowner wanted to use his garden hose it was a project.

Lift the heavy steel cover, get down on his knees and reach down into the 24" deep water meter pit to connect the garden hose to the hose bib. After 40 years of doing this, finally decided enough is enough. I got the call and headed over to see about relocating the hose bib to a more user-friendly location.

I told my customer that he's a better man than I. No way would I go through this routine for the past 40 years just to use the hose. I hope you enjoy the video and please leave your comments on how long you would have waited before getting it out of the hole?
