Atlantic Chase Review — Hidden Movement MAGIC

Shelfside reviews GMT's Atlantic Chase, a war board game that puts the Atlantic naval conflicts of WW2 right onto your tabletop! Focusing on the British Royal Navy against the German Kriegsmarine between 1939-1942, this game sees its players plotting to sink each other's ships, using mind games and strategy in order to predict their trajectories while also keeping your pieces safe and hidden. This is no Axis and Allies, Atlantic chase has excellent depth and complexity for a war game, with tons of choices and options as a result from its gameplay mechanics. The imperfect information is really well done here, and in order to win you're going to have to be able to read your opponent like a book (lucky and well rolled dice never hurt either)! But with the complexity of all these rules and abilities there may or may not be a tradeoff in how well the rulebooks address everything...
