Costa Rica - 4k Epic Cinematic - Nature, Wildlife, Surfing - Travel Film - 2021

My latest travel film is an epic cinematic adventure through the lush, wildlife-packed jungles, spectacular volcanoes, towering pristine waterfalls, and palm-fringed, untamed beaches of Costa Rica.

My main goal in creating this film was to inspire you to visit this country someday. A country where nature is respected, locals are friendly and welcoming, and wildlife is so abundant that you can actually expect to see most of the wild animals presented in this film, just by visiting a few national parks (except for the Resplendent Quetzal and Jaguar, which are bit tricker to find, but nonetheless possible!).

One of my favorite moments of this trip was my encounter with the nesting Resplendent Quetzal. For 3 days, I hiked several forest reserves to try and encounter this majestic bird, with no success. During an early morning hike in the forest, I was lucky to encounter a Costa Rican photographer, Bauke Chacón, who advised me that just above us was a quetzal nesting hole, and that the male quetzal would likely be visiting soon. The quetzal arrived shortly thereafter, and we were graced by the humble and majestic presence of this rare, flamboyant bird for fleeting moments before it disappeared into its nest, a natural encounter I will never forget.

For me, the abundance of diverse and exotic wildlife is the main thing which sets Costa Rica apart from nearby countries - and you can expect to see it with your own eyes when you get here. Whether it's the various species of monkeys in just about every corner, the vibrantly-red Scarlet Macaws screeching above, the pelicans gliding near as you as you wait to catch a wave, the cute toucans calling from the tree tops above waterfalls, or the adorable sloths just hanging out. It's a true haven for nature and wildlife.
