Matched Betting is a betting technique where we take advantage (and profit) from free bets and other incentives offered by the bookies.

With qualifying bets and free bets, we want to find matched betting opportunities with back and lay odds that are close together (and high, when it comes to free bets). This is so we can keep our qualifying losses as low as possible, and maximising our profits from our free bets. It doesn't matter who wins or loses.

OddsMonkey’s ODDSMATCHER is the most important tool when it comes to matched betting! The OddsMatcher is a simple tool, that compares back odds from different bookmakers, with lay odds at different betting exchanges (The Betfair Exchange, Smarkets, Matchbook and BetDAQ).

The headings show:
- Time/Date: Event start time and date
- ‘Sport Icon’: What the sport is
- Details: What the event is
- Bet: Which selection to back & lay
- Type: Market type (e.g. Winner, Correct Score, Over/Under)
- Rating: Measure of how close the back & lay odds are (shown as %)
- SNR: Measure of how much a free bet can be turned into profit (shown as %)
- ‘Info/i Icon’: Link to match info & in-built calculator
- Bookmaker: Where to place back bet
- Back: Back odds
- Exchange: Where to place lay bet
- Lay: Lay odds
- Avail.: Exchange liquidity at lay odds
- ‘Clock’: How old the data is

To sort the results by a given heading, give the heading a click. You’ll find yourself switching between ‘Rating’ and ’SNR’ when performing qualifying bets and free bets respectively.
For qualifying bets, sort by ‘Rating’
For free bets, sort by ‘SNR’

At the top of the OddsMatcher you have:
- Saved Filters

In the filter window you can:
- Limit Sports
- Limit Different Markets
- Limit Bookmakers
- Limit Betting Exchanges
- Set Min/Max Rating & SNR
- Set Min/Max Back Odds
- Set Min Liquidity
- Change Time Range of Event Start
- Search By Bet Keyword

For qualifying bets, you want ratings as close to 100% as possible. If the back odds are higher than the lay odds, these are called arbs (or arbitrage bets) - these should show as being over 100% and highlighted in red. Do not bet on these.

Making profit on your qualifying bet may seem tempting, but it’s a quick way to get your account gubbed (restricted, banned or excluded from promotions). You should only make profit with your free bet.

Other Tips:
- Place back and lay bets near to the start of an event for closer odds.
- But to not wait to the very last minute, as odds can fluctuate a lot - especially for horse racing.
- Do not place bets on events too far in the future, this ties up your liability, when it could be working in the meantime.

After FINDING the correct bet, by using the Oddsmatcher, the calculator will tell us EXACTLY HOW MUCH to back and lay at the bookmaker and exchange respectively.
