Improve your English speaking with these Tongue Twisters

Tongue twisters aren’t just playful sentences — they’re a time-tested tool for improving pronunciation, articulation and fluency. Actors, singers, politicians and TV hosts use them to warm up their voices, sharpen their diction and sound more confident before going live.

In this lesson, you’ll practise a series of classic English tongue twisters, grouped by sound. We’ll begin with what tongue twisters are and why they work, then move through /s/ and /ʃ/ (the “sh” sound), /w/ and /tʃ/ (the “ch” sound), /s/, /k/ and /ks/ clusters, and finally vowel patterns. You’ll also see examples of how professionals use similar drills to keep their speech clear.

Practise each one slowly at first, then build up speed. By the end of the video, you’ll not only know some of the most famous tongue twisters but also have a daily exercise to make your English more fluent and natural.
