Unnao Rape Case | Male Officers Manhandle Survivor's Mother After Sengar's Sentence Suspended

Shocking visuals emerged from Delhi showing the Unnao rape survivor's elderly mother being pushed and elbowed by CRPF personnel (with no women officers present) at the door of a moving bus, ultimately jumping off for safety after the vehicle refused to stop at Mandi House for a planned media address.

This followed their detention the previous night during a protest at India Gate against the Delhi High Court's December 23 decision to suspend the life sentence of convicted former BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar in the 2017 rape case (pending appeal, after over 7 years served), though he remains jailed for a separate 10-year term in her father's custodial death.

The tearful mother told reporters: "We did not get justice... My daughter has been held captive... It seems they want to kill us." The survivor called the relief "death" for her family and vowed to challenge it in the Supreme Court.

The incident has ignited nationwide outrage over the treatment of the survivor, who has endured threats and tragedy for 8 years.
