Jagjit Singh and Javed Akhtar combine their talent for a music album: Archive Footage

Javed Akhtar says "I feel that whenever you give a romantic poem, nostalgia-inducing poetry along with a little pain to Jagjit Singh then that poetry will shine bright like a diamond."

Javed often transcends the boundaries of filmy lyrics into the realms of poetry.

Jagjit Singh says "He is from a poetic family, entire pedigree you can call it, all are poets. His father is a poet, his uncle is a poet, in fact, the entire clan is poetic. Since he comes from such a family hence he has to be a poet."

Both Javed and Jagjit have done well in tunes apart from the famous teaming with wife Chitra, Jagjit had earlier combined with Gulzar to spur the music for the well known TV-series Mirza Ghalib.
