NDA 1st Batch Of Women | NDA Passing Out Parade 2025 | Cadet Shriti Daksh |National Defence Academy

Cadet Shriti Daksh has made history by becoming the first woman to top the Bachelor of Arts stream at the National Defence Academy (NDA) in Pune. As part of the NDA's inaugural batch of 17 female cadets, her achievement marks a significant milestone in the institution's journey toward gender inclusivity.

During the 148th course convocation held on May 29, 2025, Shriti was honored with the Silver Medal and the Chief of Air Staff Trophy for her outstanding academic performance. She also served as the Division Cadet Captain of her squadron, demonstrating exemplary leadership qualities.

Shriti's journey is deeply rooted in her family's military background. Her father, Wing Commander (Retd.) Yogesh Kumar Daksh, is a former Indian Air Force helicopter pilot and an NDA alumnus from the Hunter Squadron—the same squadron Shriti chose to join. Reflecting on her early training days, her father recalled how she transformed from struggling to run 400 meters to confidently completing 1.2 kilometers within weeks.
Balancing rigorous military training with academic excellence, Shriti's dedication and resilience have set a precedent for future generations of women in the armed forces. Her success underscores the evolving dynamics of military inclusion and the expanding opportunities for women in India's defense services.
