BURMESE STREET FOOD: BEST PASTRIES in all of SOUTHEAST ASIA, Yangon, Myanmar! (Part 1)

Yangon, Myanmar - The former colonial capital of Myanmar. This is a city that Anthony Bourdain fell in love with, and after eating through this city, I have as well. Full of delicious Indo-Chinese food that fills the air with wonderful aromas, this is a food city that never sleeps!

Places Visited:

1. Myaungmya Daw Cho Mohinga- This is hands down the BEST spot to try the traditional Burmese dish called Mohinga. Vermicelli noodles inside a fermented fish soup, this dish is a classic Burmese breakfast topped with some fried goodies.

2. Lucky Seven Tea Shop- The pastries here are unbelievably good. Their mutton and duck pastries will leave you wanting more (luckily they have two on each plate). The tea is average and so are the chicken wings, but the pastries here rival those of Paris!

3. Man Myo Taw Cafe- This place is THE best place for tea. That chocolate-y, milky flavor is mindblowing and although the bun isn't particularly impressive, the tea is what makes this cafe amazing!

4. Yatha Tea Shop- Once again, the pastries and fried goods are the highlight. The best dish to try here has to be the samosa, which is so crunchy and wraps up this delicious combination of curry spices and potatoes.

5. Golden Bell Tea Centre - The dry noodles here are the definition of unhealthy but good. They're so oily and slip down your throat so easily. But that's not all they have; the dumplings are some of the best you'll find in all of Yangon!

6. Aung Mingalar Shan Noodle Shop - Shan Noodles- the best noodle soup dish of Myanmar. This place serves better Shan Noodles than a lot of stores from Shan state, so there is good reason that this place is so famous. The flavor in the broth with the herbs helps cut down on that fat and provides such a unique, medicinal flavor to the overall noodle soup.
