God’s Promise to Broken Families | Pastor Jentezen Franklin

Scripture:

Matthew 2:16-18
“Then Herod, when he saw that he had been tricked by the wise men, became furious, and he
sent and killed all the male children in Bethlehem and in all that region who were two years old
or under, according to the time that he had ascertained from the wise men. Then was fulfilled
what was spoken by the prophet Jeremiah: “A voice was heard in Ramah, weeping and loud
lamentation, Rachel weeping for her children; she refused to be comforted because they are
no more.”

Main idea:
Pastor Jentezen preached a prophetic word over our families and young generations. In the
book of Genesis we see a family being separated at a place called Ramah. This is the same
place where later on Israel was held in captivity. Ramah is a place of separation. This is the
same type of family separation and captivity that is trying to hold us as God’s people today.
However, the prophet Jeremiah does not end his statement with Rachel crying out at Ramah
but goes on to say that we will come back. Ramah is not a one-way street in any of our lives
and God wants to bring our families back together and bring us out of the captivity in our own
lives here today.
