Hello, all my loves welcome to Day 3 – Loving Kindness Meditation Challenge

My name is Shakila Devi Perumal, nick name is Devi Joining from United Kingdom.
I am a specialist in lung and mental health
I am really excited and honoured to be joining you today as your guide to practice Loving Kindness meditation. Today’s theme is to befriend our anxiety.

We are in culture of perfectionism, that makes us to be, doing all perfectly. This leads to our overwhelming feeling on our nerves Nerves and edginess, sleep disturbance. This cause you to get stuck in your thoughts of self-doubt and procrastination. And more so thinking of our past catastrophizing our present. We all suffer. you are not alone.

You would have heard the word Loving Kindness in your life.
If you could ask a question what is love? Topic of love is vast. Many have different meaning to love, one may relate love to possessions, family and duty, romance or intimacy. Buddha states Love begins with self, befriending your inner critic, anger, sadness and jealousy.

Metta Bhavana as it’s known in Palli, an Indian Language – A Langauage of Buddha

Loving Kindness meditation, isa buddha’s practice of cultivating 4 qualities of love- –
Friendliness (Metta) most important form of love which starts with choice,
this leads to Appreciation and joy (Mudita) refer happiness, which forget by comparison of ourselves with others,
Compassion (Karuna) refers to motivated to be in action, helping a person suffer less, speak up when there is injustice in the world, standing up for self and others,
Equanimity (Upekkha) refers to the inner stability and peace.
Loving Kindness practice is an unconventional form of mediation which uses visualisation and repeating certain phrases to cultivate love, kindness and compassion to yourself and someone you love or care.

Today we are going to practice Loving Kindness meditation to cultivate sense of happiness, compassion, inner peace for our self, we are going to close the doors of over-analysing and quieten our inner critic with some self-love phrases to cultivate more kindness, self-compassion and unconditional love to our selves.

During the practice if you feel uncomfortable anytime make a gentle tactile reminder by putting your hands on to your chest or abdomen.
