The Clinical Research Associate is 2 jobs in 1
Being a CRA is having 2 jobs in 1☝️
You might think of this idealistic dreamy busy traveler all around the world, but the reality is the Clinical Research Associate (CRA) job has 2 sides to it:
1 - You are a busy traveler (most likely not around the world but locally in your country) hopping on a train or a flight to go to a clinic and monitor data.
2 - You're also an office/home worker who has significant amount of administrative tasks to catch up on in between those traveling monitoring days (aka "site management" - sounds fancier, isn't it?).
This is how my routine as a CRA on those days of administrative work looks like:
☕️ Never start the day without coffee
✨ Take 10 minutes to prioritize my tasks for the day
✨ Check and respond to the never-ending incoming emails
🚀 Start with those priorities and focus on completing tasks
(oups, interrupted by the first call from my site this morning🤪)
✅ Task 1 done, continue with priority 2 on the task list
(another phone call, pause☝️)
This tasks list for the day might include:
✅ Writing a follow up letter
✅ Reviewing the IWRS and the drug stock at site
✅ Chase your sites for some missing signatures
✅ Update your trackers with the new patients and their reconsents
✅ Check on the lab kits stock and order more if needed
✅ Review the temperature logs your pharmacy just sent you
etc.
