Handyman Business vs. General Contractor
What really is the difference between a Handyman Business and being a General Contractor? A handyman is typically hired for more of a DIY project or a quick "honey-do" project that needs to be completed around the house.
A General Contractor will be hired typically for bigger projects such as a bathroom renovation, or a new outdoor living space. A general contractor is responsible for providing all of the material, labor, equipment, and services necessary for the construction of the project. A general contractor often hires specialized subcontractors to perform all or portions of the construction work.
There is a Customer Expectation with the two very different terms. A handyman is generally known to be cheaper costing and comes with a Perception of Cost Affective in the client's eyes.
