Publius Cornelius Scipio Nasica, Consul 191 BCE

The first cousin of Scipio Africanus, Scipio Nasica the First lived in his cousin's shadow. Despite being a contemporary of one of the greatest Romans to ever live, Scipio Nasica was selected as the "best" of the Romans by his peers when Rome received the cult objects of the Magna Mater. He was sufficiently famous to earn a cognomen for his distinctive pointed nose and this branch of the Scipiones did well until his grandson assassinated one of the Gracchi.
