the golden beast (bedtime story)

at some point when i have time and resources ill post all of my bedtime stories with a script as well as an explination on the symbolism and meaning behind everything.

but i wanted to explain what the beast is in this story.

there is a mini series called jekyll about dr jekyll and mr hide that i saw a while back and really loved.

*spoilers* so if you want to watch it dont read any further. its on hulu i believe.

in that series Hide is represented as a violent and vulgar beast that jekyll desperately wants to rid himself of.
but in the final episode its explained that what he is, is the embodiment of love.
that volitile and wild emotion that drives a person to inconceivable violence to protect those they care about.

that is what the beast in this story represents aswell, Love. and why i dont focus on its physical description as much as the effect it has on people who see it.

the beast is that love that once protected the village, but over time they grew afraid of it and drove it away.

the same love in the heart of Gester.
who like the beast, was driven away out of fear but still watches over his once called home.

and that love.

that overwhelming ferocity to protect those he cares for.

that is the golden beast that appeared behind Gester, and why those raiders will never return.
