Malcolm Guite | Singing Bowl
The Box Canyon at Laity Lodge is a long way from the Cambridge, England hometown of poet-priest Malcolm Guite. Yet no one has looked quite so at home in this space as did Malcolm, walking up and down the creek bed, inspecting and listening. We merely looked on, tuned to the sounds of the birds, the breeze, and the distant river—until, as if in response to something only he perceived, Malcolm broke the silence: “Begin the song exactly where you are…” His poem "Singing Bowl" resonated throughout the stillness of the Box Canyon.
