Presentation of the Air Brake Test on a 2011 IC Conventional Style School Bus (Pre-Trip Inspection), using the acronym "SALSSP", in Richmond Hill, Georgia.

S: Safe Start
A: Air Leak Test (static and applied service brake)
L: Low Air Pressure Warning Test
S: Spring Brake
S: Service Brake
P: Parking Brake

The air brake is applied, when the yellow diamond button is pulled. It is released when the same button is pushed.

*** At approximately 120 psi, the airdryer pops. It sends bursts of air back to governor to stop the compressor from pumping air. ***

*** The wheels of the vehicle must be chocked to perform the air brake test. ***
