What's happening in this scene? During annual migration to Southern Australia, Giant Cuttlefish engage in aggressive competitions for mates with spectacular displays of color. Here a female is checking her eggs under rock ledges whilst her mate protects from another male intruder. The intruder puts on a show of color to his opponent who responds by extending his body to show his size and shield his mate. At least that's what we think is happening!
