In inviting a reference to the subject cited above, I am to say that sports activities at the school level play a crucial role in the holistic development of students, extending beyond physical fitness to encompass social, emotional, and cognitive growth. Engaging in sports fosters teamwork. discipline. and leadership skills, while promoting a healthy lifestyle and enhancing overall well-being. These activities provide students with opportunities to develop critical life skills such as perseverance, time management, and stress management. Additionally, school sports programmes can cultivate a sense of school spirit and community, encouraging students to take pride in their institutions. By integrating sports into the regular school activities contribution of the institution would be significant to the comprehensive development of the students, preparing them for future challenges both on and off the field.

2.               As per the norm of Samagra Shiksha, Sports grant is given to all Govemment run schools from class I to Xll. Rs 5,000/- is given for Primary School, Rs 10,000/- for upper Primary School and Rs 25,000/- for Secondary and Higher Secondary school. These grants should be utilised at school level. Participation of community should be ensured. One school will form of at least one sports (any sports activity) team.

3.               Sports grants should be utilised by July 15, 2024 so that students will be able to use the sports equipment for maximum time in the current academic year. u.C. should be submitted maximum by August 14, 2024 to the State Project Office.
