How to Install Sump Pump - Backyard Drainage Solutioins -

In this weeks how to drainage video I show you how to install a sump pump to correct your backyard drainage issue. Sump pumps are installed when a drainage system will not allow water movement by means of gravity.

If you have a wet lawn, with poor slope, adding a sump pump to your landscape drainage system will allow you to discharge water from your wet lawn to an appropriate discharge area. Incorporating a sump pump is a common drainage solution used in yard drains, and French drains, to overcome poor slope.

Our system used a Zoeller M98 - .5HP sump pump with a 15ft power cord. Be sure your sump pump has its own dedicated power source, as running a sump pump from a extension cord is not recommended. A local licensed electrician can help you with installing an outlet for the pump. The installation is easy and you can find a materials list below, along with a common distributor of the sump pumps and basin kits.
