RFK Jr

RFK Jr. spent his first Congressional hearing doing what he does best: denying things he very clearly said. When Congresswoman Terri Sewell confronted him about his past comments suggesting Black children on ADHD medication should be “re-parented,” he denied it and asked for the video. But the receipts exist. In 2024, RFK Jr. said: “Every Black kid is now just standard put on Adderall, SSRIs, benzos… those kids are going to have a chance to go somewhere and get re-parented.” These comments are not just offensive — they are racist, harmful, and rooted in stigma about Black families, mental health, and ADHD treatment. As Health Secretary, words matter. Public health leaders should be building trust, fighting misinformation, and protecting families — not spreading reckless rhetoric and pretending they never said it. This is the same pattern we continue to see from RFK Jr.: make dangerous claims, deny them when challenged, and hope people forget. But people deserve the truth. And Black children and families deserve far better.
