Comb Wrecked Fantasy Ring Pour Fluid Art Acrylic Paint Pouring 24x30
Beautiful Effects from Combing!

Hello Friends!!
For the last few days I've been dreaming of a midnight blue sky with swirls of silver and gold in it.. today I'm going to pour those colors and see what happens 😊 I'm going to do a Fantasy Pour, which is a ring pour and a straight pour together. I'm also going to 'wreck' the pour with my Wide Tooth Comb in a wavy pattern around the cavas, rather than in a diagonal line.

My Colors are:
Golden's
- Payne's Gray
- Prussian Blue
Liquitex
- Ultramarine Blue
Artist's Loft
- Silver
DecoArt Americana Decor
Metallics
- 24K Gold
Satin Enamels
- Pure White with some
Artist's Loft Metallic White

Pouring Medium
Liquitex Gloss
Medium & Varnish
Paint + a bit of Water
Floetrol
There is no silicone in any of my paint.

**A few notes about combing your pour (that I figured out the hard way):**
1. Dont tilt the pour before you comb. A thicker puddle of paint works better.
2. Thicker paint will hold your design shape better.. Use a big layer of thinned out Flow Extender around the pour before you comb wreck it.
3. Start the comb in the flow extender and drag it into the pour. 4.Hold the comb at a slight angle and dont push down to scrape the canvas..just skim the surface of the canvas slowly.
5. Keep moving the comb..you will feel resistance, like you are pushing the paint, and you are pushing it thru the teeth of the comb.. keep going... It's working!
6. To get more solid areas of your pour, use a thicker layer of that color in your cup, and thinner layers of the other colors.
7. There are no rules, these are just observations I have had when comb wrecking my pours. Get creative and have fun!
8. Less is more ..most of the time lol

I love how this pour turned out! I see a small fox dreaming.. curled up in a little den, with his big poofy tail 🦊.. swirls of silver and gold floating above him in the midnight sky..

In my little Tuffshed studio I am very close to where things are drying and while the paintings are drying is actually a very personal time for me with them. It's a metamorphosis, this time while they develop and dry over a few days. I'm watching them, checking every so often to make sure no visitors or bugs have landed in them, to see all the cells and effects develop.. to watch the colors settle into place and deepen and watch that amazing 24K Gold begin to sparkle..

They are only mine at this point, my babies, almost like newborns. Fragile and delicate, so susceptible to anything hurting them.. its usually during this period that I 'see' something.. and that (in this case a Fox) becomes an anchor..and my mind starts to see the story around it. Once they are dry and can stand up and go out into the light they are very different again.. the butterfly emerges from the chrysalis ..

Its possible that I spend too much time guarding the newborn paintings lol 😁
