Taiwan confirms 8 more imported COVID-19 cases, 2 local infections
Taiwan confirmed 10 more cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, taking the total to 339. Eight of the new patients are believed to have been infected overseas. The other two are local cases. One is a man in his 50s, who is a contact of a previously diagnosed patient. The other is a woman in her 50s, whose source of infection is still unknown.Officials say the woman has no recent travel history. She works as a security guard at an apartment complex. She developed a sore throat and a cough on March 17 and a fever on March 26. Her diagnosis was confirmed on Thursday. Five of her family members and seven colleagues are now self-isolating. Authorities are reviewing security camera footage to identify the patient’s other contacts and to track down the source of her infection. As of this time, Taiwan has reported 339 confirmed cases, five deaths, and 50 patients discharged from hospital after recovery
