12 Miniatures op. 9 - Yağız Arslan
Sexota lmao, i remember being in a discird call when u were writing a sexota, and that was beginning of miniatures uwu
It's a set I was trying different colors and species one after another. Sometimes really dissonant and atonal, sometimes really fluid, sometimes really angry, sometimes wistful, sometimes really consonant and pretty, sometimes really mechanic, sometimes really eccentric, sometimes really severe, sometimes really crazy..
No. 1 : It's my first piece which includes atonal sections, it has a really mechanic atmosphere and catchy counterpoint sections. Dedicated to Ozan Özgüç
No. 2 : A calm nocturne with an interesting harmonic language. Scale moves one chromatic pitch forward or back while a sentence is happening. Dedicated to Merşad Hashemi.
No. 3 : It is a cute movement, maybe reminds some minecraft soundtracks. Dedicated to miL_not_sniW
No. 4 : Very catchy rhythmic structure, inspired by Kapustin. Dedicated to Lisztomaniac.
No. 5 : "A quote by Ozan Güvener about the toccatina: "A burning, wild toccatina with oriental themes. It's short but very efficent. Compared to Op. 6 toccata, it's way more refined." - Ozan Güvener. Dedicated to Orkay Pazarcı.
No. 6 : A canon with 2 voices, inspired by Ligeti's Canon-Etude. Dedicated to Samuel Mincarelli.
No. 7 : A movement for left hand only. Has a funeral-march like theme. Requires large hands. Dedicated to Şimal Yaktıyol.
No. 8 : Cool Fughetta with baroque aesthetics. Dedicated to NinjaDoat.
No. 9 : Avant-Garde jazz inspired Cadenza. Has a very irregular rhythmic stucture. Dedicated to Davide Battarino.
No. 10 : A pretty waltz, goes really virtuosic to the end. Dedicated to Alkım Koş.
No. 11 : A Ragtime movement, has minimalist aestetics in it. Dedicated to Mehmet Fatih Turan.
No. 12 : The craziest piece of the set. It has many crazy counterpoint sections with interrupted rhythms. Really large atonal hand span sections surround the piece. Dedicated to Ozan Güvener.
