My first time singing this song since June 2016, when I last played with my Greed brothers.
On this occasion, I pressed record, one take, raw and a bit pissed off as the song intended to be (my other vocal covers I will tend to have one or two vocal layers in certain parts)
When playing live we often would close our set with this song as the outro could go on for ages and we could maximise our stage time.... sometime pissing off the promoter haha

Originally the song was actually called 'Greed' and featured Holger (bass) on vocals, and was on the first Greed demo/album 'Third Warning' which came out a few years before I joined the band back in 1999. The first Greed singer couldn't growl/low gutturals so when I joined and was able to, we did perform the original version for about a year or so before the song got rewritten and eventually became 'Can I Die Now?

I wrote the lyrics for this song some 22 yrs ago about a family member who had been diagnosed with a severe life changing illness and when they still had the mobility, they would try and take their own life on a few occasions. Later when mobility had left them, I really believed at the time they just wanted to go, hence the title.
