Beyond the Arctic Circle, he explores a deserted island of tundra, berries, mushrooms, countless lakes and the cold sea. There are no people here—only wildlife and bear tracks.
Climbing over coastal rocks, he finds a small abandoned log cabin: a leaking roof and drafts under the window, but a good wood stove inside.

He cleans the room, repairs the roof and seals the gaps, stocks driftwood from the shore, and lights the stove. For dinner, he cooks mushrooms gathered on the way.
A quiet, safe night in the wild—and at dawn, he continues the journey.
