Contempt of Court

Description

Contempt of court may be defined as lowerining the image of court by any means.
It is of two types.
Civil Contempt

Section 2 (b)

Willful disobedience of judgment, decree, order, direction etc. of court

Or
Willful breech of undertaking given to court

Criminal Contempt of Court

Section 2 (c)

Publication ( by word, oral or written, by sign, by representation of whatever means) or any matter
Or
Doing any other things which
Scandalizes or tend to scandalizes or lower or tend to lower the Authority of any court: or
Prejudices or interfere or tend to interfere with due course of justice: or
Interfere or tend to interfere with or obstructs or tend to obstruct, the Administration of Justice.
