Metallica's search for a bassist after Cliff Burton and also also after Jason Newsted left the band (do you hear Lars Ulrich scream?) sparked a lot of rumors... and I guess by now pretty much everyone has heard of how one of the greatest wrestlers of all time Hulk Hogan auditioned to become Metallica’s bass player upon Jason Newsted’s departure in 2001… yet actually that story started many years before that!
