Flume makes a water monitor that attaches to your water meter without tools. The monitor analyzes the number of gallons used and the flow rate. The app lets you set up various alerts to tell you if you have a leak, water running when you’re not home and if you are exceeding a pre-determined flow rate.

The Flume attaches to your water meter using elastic straps and sends the meter info to a Wi-Fi bridge in your house. The sensor is battery powered and expected to last up to two years before you need to replace the two AA batteries. You can send a picture of your water meter to Flume support and they will tell you if it is supported before you buy the unit. Flume has an Alexa skill where you can check the status, usage and water budgets.
