Hello everyone, MT here with the usual trainspotting action. On Tuesday 3rd September 2019 was the second leg of my inter-rail holiday across Europe, onboard the Frecciarossa ETR.500 unit operated by Trenitalia from Firenze S.M.N. to Venezia Santa Lucia. The journey took about two hours and this film doesn’t cover the whole journey, just much of the important areas while looking out of the window. The train left about half ten in the morning, making several stops along the way including Bologna Central, Padova and Venezia-Mestre before it finally arrived at Venezia Santa Lucia just before one in the afternoon, about twenty minutes behind its originally arrival schedule. The first part of the journey was not covered much because the train was travelling under the Italian mountains through dozens of tunnels, causing problems of getting good shots without the reflection of the train’s inside lights being a pain. Luckily, I was travelling forward giving a relaxing position to capture good shots. The ETR 500 units are indeed very long, perhaps as long as the Eurostar units and just as comfortable.
