Yamaha AR195 Cleat Issues - Yamaha needs to rethink cleat attachment for this boat

I have had two cleats on my 2019 AR195 come loose, and they are a real pain to tighten, but if you don't, they will eventually fall off. Yamaha needs a better design for these. Ideally you should be able to tighten them from the outside, and when installed they should have a thread locker applied. But as it is, if they come loose, its a pain!

In this video I happen to get lucky because I could reach the back of the cleat through the cup holder opening, but every cleat has its access challenges.

Other things to watch for;

1. Be careful not to over tighten a cleat or you risk damaging or crushing the fiberglass hull.

2. The cup holder I had to remove is super flimsy. Handle it with care or you will crack it. Also don't over tighten the various screws that hold it in place or you will strip them out very easily, or risk cracking the plastic.

Yamaha needs to rethink this design. You would think this is a minor issue, but you won't when your fist cleat ends up at the bottom of the lake, and you end up with a hole in your boat where the cleat use to be! Not good.

I will ask my dealer to tighten every cleat and put some thread lock on them. Hopefully under warranty.
