Live from the Space Station, NASA Astronaut Kate Rubins

Stanford Medicine alumni go to many interesting places after graduation. Kate Rubins, PhD, went to space.

At a Stanford Medicine event on Sept. 29, 2016, David Relman, PhD, a professor of medicine and of microbiology and immunology, moderated a Q&A session with his former student, NASA astronaut and Stanford alumna Kate Rubins, PhD, who was aboard the International Space Station.

The event was made possible by the Dean’s Office in the School of Medicine; the Stanford Medicine Alumni Association; and NASA, in particular astronaut Christina Koch and her colleagues in the Astronaut Office at NASA’s Johnson Space Center.
