Phoenix fire holds heat awareness event

NOW: As the City of Phoenix recognizes this week as Heat Awareness Week, Phoenix firefighters will demonstrate a scenario of how dangerous a hot car can be if a child or pet were to be left inside. Phoenix Police will also be present to discuss the law that protects citizens when breaking a window to help a child/pet trapped in a hot car. Additionally, members of the Phoenix Fire Department's EMS section will be present demonstrating and discussing a new technique firefighters will use to treat victims of heat illness.
