One of my main interests in returning to Myanmar was to ride on at least a couple more trains, and this train to Mawlamyine was the first one. I wanted to see Mawlamyine and the surrounding area, but I was just as excited about simply taking the train.

My first attempt to buy a train ticket didn't work out because all the trains were fully booked for the Thadingyut Festival days. But once the festival was ending, I managed to get an Upper Class seat for the day train from Yangon to Mawlamyine.

I was looking forward to this train trip, and it didn't let me down.
Cheers,
