Did you know that some of China’s 50+ ethnic minorities were nomadic hunter-gatherers all the way up until the mid-1900s? 🦌 Some of the older generation of Oroqens in Heilongijang and Inner Mongolia experienced the transition from a roaming life in the forest to a settled life in villages, and we met a few of them deep in the mountain villages near the Russian border 🌲 We learned not only about their traditional culture and ways of life, but also about the lives of the Oroqen people today. Come with us and meet this very tiny and fascinating population of people on China’s northeast frontier! 🌞
