Creating our American Prairie from scratch

Take a look behind the scenes at our field trip to Illinois, USA, where the team collected wild seeds that will be planted in our American Prairie.

We are creating a six-acre North American landscape inspired by sweeping prairies and vibrant grasslands at the heart of Wakehurst, Kew’s wild botanic garden in Sussex.

This is the start of an exciting journey for Wakehurst to conserve an important and endangered grassland ecosystem.
