How are Pressure Ulcers Treated in Hospitals and Care Facilities? A Guide to Common Practices.

Patti Burke-Martin talks about the methods we use to treat pressure ulcers in care facilities and hospitals. She outlines the main aspects of therapeutic surfaces, often referred to as mattresses, the effects of repositioning, proper hydration and nutrition and other ideas that may not be in use at present. These methods are used worldwide to treat and prevent pressure injuries, also known as pressure ulcers, bed sores and pressure wounds.

Seating Matters are changing the world through healthcare seating.
At Seating Matters we design and manufacture clinical, therapeutic seating for adults and children.
They were designed by Martina Tierney, an Occupational Therapist with 30 years’ experience in seating patients, and author of The Clinician’s Seating Handbook.

The Handbook provides lots of information, support and guidance to patients on how to get the most from your seat and to help you make the decision to get better seating for specific conditions and disabilities.
