RELIGIOUS PROFESSION: What is it?

Many Catholics know that there exist monks, brothers, sisters within the Church, but if a person has a vocation to religious life, how do they become a vowed religious? A Religious Profession Ceremony! For us Passionists in particular, our Ceremony revolves around 4 parts: lying prostrate for the Passion narrative, receiving the sign, professing our vows, and processing around the Church with a cross and crown of thorns. What makes our Profession Ceremony different? Our Fourth Vow.
