It’s the 10th of November 1944, near Morville-les-Vic, Normandy. The 761st Tank Battalion of the US Army is about to face serious action for the first time, against a reinforced German division. The 761st are known as the Black Panthers as they are composed entirely of Black American soldiers and NCOs. One of the men whose bravery stands out in the coming battles is 21-year old Sergeant Warren Gamaliel Harding Crecy – or ‘Harding’ to his friends. Ultimately this man's extreme bravery and grit in the face of danger resulted in him being recommended for the Medal of Honor.
